Jeep recently gave the Renegade a host of improvements for 2018 but it appears the company is also working on a facelifted model.

Motor1 noticed a couple of images posted to Instagram by Renegadejeeps and they appear to show a modestly revised model with an updated front fascia. The styling changes are incredibly subtle but the crossover has been equipped with an updated front bumper which includes new air intakes and repositioned fog lights. Additional changes are limited but the grille has been tweaked and the model features LED headlights which mimic those on the 2018 Wrangler.

The single interior image doesn't reveal much but it appears the cabin will largely carryover. This isn't too surprising as the interior was recently updated with new seat fabrics, updated bezel treatments, two additional storage compartments, and a revised Selec-Terrain shifter.

Additional information is limited but the updated model is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2018. It remains unclear if there will be any performance modifications but the current Renegade is offered with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder producing 160 hp (119 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. Customers can also opt for a 2.4-liter four-cylinder developing 180 hp (134 kW) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque.

New 2018 Jeep Grand Commander 7-Seater Leaks Ahead Of China Debut

BY Sergiu Tudose | JANUARY 16, 2018

Meet the 2018 Jeep Grand Commander, a China-only 7-seater SUV that’s rumored to make its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

Once its wheels touch showroom floors, it will compete against the likes of the Volkswagen Teramont and the Toyota Highlander, with prices said to start at around 250,000 yuan ($39,000). Responsible for manufacturing the Grand Commander is the Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture.

These images, courtesy of CarNewsChina and Autohome, show two different specs, Longitude and Limited, together with front and all-wheel drive models.

The difference between the two specs, at least as far as the exterior is concerned, is that one features chrome inserts along the window frames, front bumper and side sills, while the other does not.

Powering the Grand Commander is a new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit borrowed from the Jeep Wrangler – where it makes 268 HP and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

Unlike the Yuntu Concept on which it is based, the Grand Commander comes with a 7-seat layout, whereas the study only had six seats. As for size, Jeep’s new Teramont/Highlander rival measures 4,873 mm (15.9 ft) in length, 1,892 mm (6.2 ft) in width and 1,738 mm (5.7 ft) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm (9.2 ft).

H/T to Karim!
