Lo importó en 1980 de Alemania. Era matrícula 0 - U. Oviedo de la U y pagó por él unas 800.000 pesetas sin contar tasas y aranceles de la época. Era usado ya.

# Tu comentario me ha hecho recordar ahora que poneis fotos de esta belleza, que el 3.0 CSL lo tuvo un tio mío. Precioso. Aunque lo compró ya terminada la vida comercial de este coche, principio de los 80 (no recuerdo si se dejó de hacer en el 75 o en el 78, yo aún no había nacido ;D)
Era en un color marron metalizado de la época. Pero por desgracia mi tio tuvo un accidente con él. Se salvó él y mi tia. El coche quedó destrozado... Esto ocurrió siendo yo muy peque.

Alexander Calder Paints a BMW
The BMW Art Car Project was introduced by the French racecar driver and auctioneer Hervé Poulain, who wanted to invite an artist to create a canvas on an automobile. It was in 1975, when Poulain commissioned American artist and friend Alexander Calder to paint the first BMW Art Car. This first example would be a BMW 3.0 CSL which Poulain himself would race in the 1975 Le Mans endurance race. Since Calder’s work of art, many other renowned artists throughout the world have created BMW Art Cars, including David Hockney, Jenny Holzer, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, and Andy Warhol.
