The What Car? Reader Awards are the only annual car awards voted for solely by you, the car buyer. Our bank of more than 30,000 reader reviews left at whatcar.com allows us to work out your favourite – and least favourite – cars in each class.
This is invaluable information for anyone choosing a new car. Here at What Car? we can give you unbiased and scientific verdicts on how well a car drives, how practical it is or how big a discount you can expect when buying, but we need your help to find out what each car is like to live with in the long term.
We’ve left out reviews of cars no longer on sale, as well as any model that has fewer than 10 reviews in total. Even so, this year’s Reader Awards include 170 cars.

What Car? Reader Awards 2010 - Superminis
Alfa Romeo hasn't had much to shout about in recent years, but the fact you’ve voted the Mito your favourite supermini proves things are on the up. The Alfa secured a photo-finish victory over the Fiat 500, with the Panda snatching third place on an all-Italian podium.
If that raises eyebrows, going by Alfa and Fiat’s track record, the bottom-placed supermini will have you choking on your coffee: the Toyota Yaris gets a big thumbs-down.’s car buyers.
Alfa Romeo no ha tenido mucho que decir en los últimos años, pero el hecho de que hayáis votado al Mito como vuestro favorito urbano prueba que las cosas están en alza. El Alfa obtuvo una victoria foto-finish sobre el Fiat 500, con el Panda arrebatando el tercer puesto para un podio totalmente italiano.
