Dirk Preisser´s Opel Kadett C Coupé 16V is one of the fastest 2000cc Naturally Aspirated Hillclimb Cars in Europe with its 310Hp/10.000Rpm being fully explored by some tremendous driving.

The fact that the RWD Classic prepared for the Berg-Cup series weighs less than 850Kg and is tuned with goodies as 6 Speed Sequential Gearbox and KW Suspensions also helps to complete this incredible Combination that you can see here attacking Eschdorf and St.Agatha Hillclimbs.

Owned by Alan Greenwood, prepared by Mach 2 Racing and MDVSE and driven by Rallycross expert Mark Rennison, this 2.4L Turbocharged BDT-E Beast was capable of posting a 9 minutes and 46 seconds chrono on the Legendary Mountain, beating this way the Iconic 10 minute mark and showing how capable a chassis from the craziest era of the 80´s still is.

Reto Steiner drives one of the most unique and fastest Ford Escort Mk2 units in European Hillclimb Racing, powered by the 2.0L V6 unit that was used on the Ford Mondeo Touring Cars of the late 90´s.

With around 310Hp/9.000Rpm powering the Rear Wheels thorugh a 6-speed Sequential Gearbox, and weighing under 900Kg, it benefits also from the fact that Mr. Steiner is no slouch behind the wheel. In fact, he seems to squeeze every bit of performance for the RWD Classic Ford in every event like you can see here at Oberhallau Bergrennen 2018.

Competing alongside Martin Van Zummeren at the Knysna Speed Festival (who we featured some time ago) was his son, Wade Van Zummeren in his Drift Monster, a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 powered by the Twin Turbo V6 engine from the GTR-R R35 but here stroked to 4.2L and producing 1000Hp.

As a car not originally made for the demands of Hilllcimb Racing, it was not the among the fastest cars of the event, but it was certainly one of the most spectacular with some very spectacular driving and quite wild behaviour all along the Simola Hillclimb.

3-Wheeler Reliant Monster ||
12.000Rpm Honda CBR Swap
- Retro Rides 2018

HillClimb Monsters

Publicado el 15 sep. 2018
This is a widebodied, CBR1000 Hurricane powered Reliant Rialto with 110Hp/12.000Rpm and is probably the quirkiest car we have presented on our Channel (which is quite something given the amount of unique stuff we have shown..) and a machine that even we had no idea about its existence before Retro Rides Gathering 2018.

Although we were there ones responsible for the Guest Car line-up, this machine simply arrived because George Rogers (owner, builder and driver) decided to appear on the event and both our Team and the public were amazed at the uniqueness of the concept and how capable this little (sub-500Kg) thing was.

So much so that even the Onboard footage is not of the greatest quality, but hell, in the chance that we may never be abe to feature this "Monster" again, we had t share it too.

With around 420Hp and weighing only 800Kg, this Mid-Engined Monster is a very efficient machine that has been placing aming the Top 10 fastest Touring Car Class Monster on the Swiss Hillclimb Championship for quite some time.

Final result is the 450Hp/1000Kg Monster you see in the video being driven by Trevor Yip to a very impressive final result that definitely proves the capability of this unique project by EPowerRacing.

Renault Clio with Laguna BTCC Drivetrain

HillClimb Monsters

Publicado el 20 sep. 2018
This short clip is of the machine debuted this year by Wiebe-Motorsport. Taking the drivetrain of one of their Renault Laguna BTCC Evo 1 cars and the most aero´d Renault Clio they could find, the final result is one outrageously crazy looking machine that will fight for Top Honors in the 2000cc Class of the Berg-Cup Series.

In the first events it did, mostly as testing, this year ( including Hauenstein where the images come from), this FWD Monster had 315Hp/8.700Rpm and weighed 920Kg. Right now, the car is being lightened even more, while more changes to the Set-Up will be made.

YB Turbo Swap Monster - Retro Rides 2018

This is the Norris Motorsport tuned Talbot Sunbeam at Retro Rides Gathering. Powered by a Cosworth YB Turbo Engine here with around 550Hp, this RWD Hatchback weighing little over 900Kg is just an absolute pocket rocket.

Although here on a conservative state of tune, it can reach upwards of 700Hp/10.000Rpm when in full boost making this machine an explosive car that can accelerate to 100mph in under 6 seconds. Although not a drag car, it has run a 10.0 second at 147mph Quarter mile on treaded tyres, as well as 180mph on the standing start Kilometer.

This brutal Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was raced to a 5th Place Overall on the last Knox Mountain Hillclimb. Powered by a 600Hp Naturally Aspirated.

This Spaceframed Race Car from 1995 caught everyone´s attention due to its V8 Soundtrack and the spectacular driving style of Mr. Jensen which incuded plenty of controlled sliding. And that at the wheel of such an unforgiving Monster is always a big plus.

Peugeot 205 T16 Evo II VS Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
|| Montée des Légendes 2018

HillClimb Monsters

Publicado el 26 sep. 2018
Last weekend´s Montée des Legendes in France was a Hillclimb Festival with some amazing guests, but what caught our attention was the possibility of watching back to back Two Peugeot Monsters: the 600+Hp/930Kg Group B 205 T16 Evo II and Loeb´s 875Hp/875Kg 208 T16 Pikes Peak.

Although never a fair comparison when it comes to pure Speed, it was a unique opportunity to watch these 2 Legends that at different points in time were the most extreme cars ever created by Peugeot Sport. Also they both share interesting connections to Pikes Peak, as obviously, Loeb´s car was a former Overall recordist of the event, but Jean Duby´s 205 also uses the engine that Peugeot Sport fitted on the Pikes Peak versions of the 205 T16 that competed on the 1987 edition of Pikes Peak.

South African Racing Legend Willie Hepburn, now over 70 years old, is still racing the car which he was most successfull with, this brutal 1981 Opel Rekord powered by a 6.3L Chevy V8 engine with over 600Hp.

A multiple Champion of the Wesbank Modified Series, that was tremendously successful on the 80´s and 90´s in South Africa, as all cars from that championship, this is highly modifed Monster retaining very little from the car it was based on and now transformed into a fully spaceframed Monster weighing around 1000Kg.

14.000Rpm FIAT 600/Zastava 750 Abarth
|| 200Hp/620Kg GSX-R Swapped Monster
- Buzet 2018

HillClimb Monsters

Publicado el 1 oct. 2018
Donald Milokanovic surprised us on the last edition of Buzet Hillclimb at the wheel of this manic GSX-R1000 swapped FIAT 600/Zastava 750 Abarth replica. Producing 200Hp at an outrageous 14.000Rpm, the lightweight rear engined, rea wheel drive little Monster was one of the better driven machines in the event.

Adding to that a quite stiff set-up. it was quite common seeing this diminutive racer lifting one or even two wheels on each corner it attacked. And in the end, achieving victory in the class it part of, only made it all the more impressive.

Completely centered around producing as much downforce as possible, it has been one of the main weapons used ny Mr. Schnellmann to fight for the title of Best Touring Car in the highly competitive Swiss Hillclimb Championship.

Here it can be seen on Oberhallau Hillclimb where it was caught by our Collaborators MaxiPixelRallye.

This is Benjamin Riviére at the wheel of his 340Hp/1030Kg Peugeot 3008. The uncommon thing here is that this thing was built to compete on Snow and Ice and not on Tarmac. So it was definitely interesting to watch the All Wheel Drive, 4 Wheel Steering Peugeot Sport built machine tackling the Montée des Legendes on some Demo runs as the fastest way to go through corner was powersliding...
