pikes-peak-f1-ppihc-pastrana-2_1440x655c.jpg

Oficialmente se ha abierto la veda. Romain Dumas y el Volkswagen I.D.

El I.D.

Norbert Handa has developed for over 20 years this beautiful Lancia Delta Integrale into the Monster that can be seen here at Eschdorf Hillclimb 2018. With 650Hp moving only 940Kg, this All Wheel Drive Hatchback is a proper contender on every Berg-Cup event it enters.

Which will make it even sadder when by the end of this year Mr. Handa retires from the Racing scene. Well into his 60´s, all signs point to the retirement of the seasoned Racer. We sure hope this Monster finds its way back into the Hillclimb World as it certainly is a fascinating machine.

Here with over 700Hp ( reportedly 741Hp is the exact number) distributed to all four wheels and moving little over 1000Kg of weight, this machine also benefits from the highly modified bodywork, built to produce the biggest amount of downforce possible, alongside top-of-the-line suspensions and diffs.

Despite an incident on the first day of the Canadian event, leading to some extra fabrication, among some other teething problems normal to occur on a new untested Race Car, it would still go on to post a very respectable 1.57,88,ending up winning the GT-M Class.

We expect to see much more of this Monster has it evolves from now on a starts really exploring the capabilities it has both engine and chassis wise. Power will surely go up to over 600Hp with time and it´s unique Aero package produces some tremendous Downforce, well capable of handling such power in the most efficient manner.

Among the great Renault Sport units owned by the Wiebe family on Germany, the most Iconic one is probably this beautiful R8 Gordini. Starting its Racing over 20 years ago, it nowadays only races on special occasions but it certainly is still a very special machine.

The Rear Engined French Classic is powered here by the 1.3L NA unit in 16 valve form (using a Honda Super BlackBird cylinder head), producing around 180Hp, which is plenty given that total weight is only 740Kg. You can even see how agile this machine is on one of its last competitive outing at the vey narrow Wolsfeld Hillclimb.
